Cardiff & District boasts three cup competitions, 2 of which are amongst the oldest in world rugby.
The S.A.Brain & Co Ltd Mallett Cup is the second oldest cup competition in the world. It was first competed for in season 1893 – 1894, when Cardiff reserves defeated Canton by 8 points to 0.
The Richard Kemble Ceilings Ninian Stuart Cup was first competed for in season 1910 – 1911, when Cardiff Nomads beat Cardiff Welsh 4 points to 0. This cup replaced the Union Shield, which had run from season 1894 – 1895.
The Ron Lucock Cup, first competed for in season 1983 – 1984 was given in memory of the former CIACS secretary.
